Nannie and Charles Johnson

Letter written by Nannie Johnson to her nephew, George White.

George White had Tuberculosis and stayed at Oteen in Asheville, North Carolina for two years, from 1927 to 1929.

602 Holt Ave.
Raleigh, NC April 15th, 1928

Dear George,

Received your card and was glad to hear from you but sorry to know you have to stay in bed all the time. I hope you won't have to stay there very long.

This leaves all as well as usual. I haven't heard from out your house since you left but Irene and I are going out there one day before long.

Ella and Annie have moved back to Raleigh now, and Octavia is staying at home now. (George's sisters)

Well I haven't even been up there but everybody says it is mighty pretty up in that part of the country. Maybe I will come up to see you some time this summer if I get a chance.

I hope you will soon be well and able to come home. Write soon.

Love,
Aunt Nannie
